	Our Time Has Come Whatever their political leanings, young people throughout this country are clamoring for one thing above all: change. Pundits, pollsters, and presidential candidates alike can't get enough of the word lately- the hunger for a new politics is so strong. But we know change is more than a word. Change requires a commitment. That's why over the last 6 months we have laid the groundwork for a new type of political organization. One that's not just for insiders, but is instead a comfortable place for newcomers to learn and grow. One that demonstrates good Democratic values rather than just talks about them. One that will settle for no less than doing great things, and is not here simply to exist for its own sake. Over the last few months, our organization has taken some big steps in a new direction.  BCYD at the State Convention
   
Delegates, alternates, Elected Officials; Party leaders, volunteers and guests from across Texas converged on Austin this past weekend to attend the Texas Democratic State Convention.  It was a great sight to see so many participants in our Democratic process.  It was especially great to see so many young Democrats.  Several Bexar County Young Democrats participated in these two full days of caucusing and convention process.  In addition to participating in convention proceedings, BCYD members and friends also lent a hand to work the Texas Democratic Veterans booth where we were able to sell BCYD t-shirts.  By the second day of the convention, it was a great sight to see conventioneers in BCYD t-shirts roaming the halls of the convention center.  It was a long weekend- but we made it.  It wouldn't have been possible without the help of BCYD members: Chris Garcia, Past President; Brenda Sanchez, Adrian Trujillo; Clifton Walker, Vice-President; Brandon Turner; Mary Lou Alvarez, Secretary; and Emiliana Patlan.  A special thank you goes out to Larry Romo, Chairman of the Texas Democratic Veterans for graciously allowing BCYD to sell our t-shirts at the TX Democratic Veterans booth.
